SCADA & Automation

SCADA is the acronym for Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition. In Europe, SCADA refers to a large-scale, distributed measurement and control system, while in the rest of the world SCADA may describe systems of any size or geographical distribution.

WoodBeam has designed and installed a number of substation automation installations (see reference list), based on Cybectec’s Substation and Enterprise solutions that provide you with field-proven substation automation that you can implement in a cost-effective Step By Step manner.

These substation and enterprise solutions help utilities harness the true value of IED data. They integrate all IEDs into a cohesive, automated whole and also provide complete, enterprise-wide access to operational and non-operational substation data in a highly secure environment. The solutions work in tandem, allowing you to build a comprehensive communications infrastructure that is fully integrated, delivers maximum reliability, and improves service quality.

The SMP substation communications gateway is the basis at the substation level and is designed to bridge the gap between substation equipment, devices and control centres as the basis of an integrated, automated substation solution. The SMP concentrates and processes device data at the substation level. Rugged and reliable, it supports all types of connections as well as most standard and proprietary protocols. It is fully interoperable with virtually all IEDs, equipment and systems, and provides a single point of access to all substation data.

Visual Substation HMI/SCADA is the companion product to the SMP Gateway. It integrates seamlessly into the substation environment to provide immediate access to device data, helping you simplify local operation, maintenance, commissioning, and engineering.

Cybectec provides a growing family of Enterprise level solutions to harness the data concentrated by the SMP Gateway and provide users throughout the enterprise with secure access to substation data. The heart of the Enterprise solution is the Enterprise Gateway. It is a scalable front-end processor and data concentrator that provides a single, enterprise-wide point of access to substation data. Within the Cybectec family of enterprise solutions are a series of applications designed to extend the power of Cybectec Enterprise Gateway even further. They are Enterprise Event Manager, Enterprise Passthru Manager, Enterprise IED Manager, Visual Substation Enterprise Edition, and Enterprise Data Bridge.
